The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time is a play by Simon Stephens and based on the Novel by Mark Haddon.
 
Christopher Boone is a fifteen-year-old boy, living in Swindon; he has an extraordinary brain and is brilliant at maths, but he finds everyday life a little challenging.

He has never ventured alone beyond the end of his road, he detests being touched and he distrusts strangers. One night, he finds his neighbour's dog dead - and so begins a detective story that leads Christopher away from home and into very changed circumstances.

When you see a team of local actors with so much dedication and talent bring together a poignant story made fun and entertaining like that, with all the effective lighting, sound and staging…it should turn any non-theatre goer into a regular audience. Thank you for a captivating evening, the story was beautifully paced, innovative use of movement on stage, fitting cast of characters all with their individual nuances which I loved.  Not going to spoil the ending except to say…go and see it :-)  Long live AMEGOS…you are everyone’s friends! Well I came to what was billed as a "relaxed" performance so I expected all the actors to be half-asleep, sloppy with their cues, forgetting their lines...
But of course I couldn't have been more wrong; this ensemble put on a fabulous show that really brought Mark Haddon's novel to life. "Improved on" isn't the right term, but in dramatizing it you really took us inside the head of Christopher, especially the horseshoe of "voices" surrounding him which were used very effectively as the family and school pressures piled up on him. Huge congratulations to Charlie Maline whose performance was a tour de force and couldn't have been bettered.
